Nevertheless, here are a few of the things that have been going on in my life:
- I have made some progress on my Wardrobe Rehab, cleaning out my closet, buying pieces I love, checking off a few 'needs' on my To Buy list, and even organizing my shirt drawer!
| You can see that one shirt (back left) is missing and in the laundry :) |
- A few of the pieces I bought include: Casual, loose green khaki jacket (Levi's from Macy's, only $15!) and Black skinny jeans ($27 I think from Bloomingdale's on Black Friday) which I absolutely love.
- I do need to purchase more pants as the 2 pairs of denim skinny jeans I have are showing some serious wear/holes in very inconvenient places. Went shopping yesterday but no luck!
- Cooking-wise I have made a more than a few dishes since last posting. The most memorable would be our Sushi night, which was unbelievably successful/delicious and my attempt at Delicata Squash (which I should find in our fridge now that I think about it...) The sushi was fabulous, vegetarian, easy to make, and got rave reviews from neighbors. It had: carrots, tofu, egg, celery, avocado and some of them had cream cheese! Definitely do the cream cheese. The delicata was baked with salt & sugar and was decent but nevertheless squash is still on my dislike list.
- My Fixie Conversion has also made minimal progress. After struggling to get the rear wheel off (in order to measure the distance between the dropouts) I got some help from a strong friend. Now I am working on removing other components (gears/derailleur/etc) and then will probably make a trek to Harris Cyclery to get my new wheelset. Before that I need to measure my chain/pedal thing and determine the ratio of the gears I want!
- My most recent purchase was a Crate & Barrel bowl which I will be using as a pot for my newest houseplant! This darling darling succulent was gifted to me by my boss' wife on Saturday and I am unbelievable excited about it. I already forgot the name of the species, but I am oh so excited to have him be the 3rd addition to my plants. Since I've never talked about my plants before you should know that I have an Umbrella Plant named Ramon who I got in 2010, an unknown and unnamed cacti who I rescued from a fate in the trash in August of 2011, and my newest succulent who is also in need of a name.
| Ramon & Cactus, this was before Plant #3. If you look closely you can see my old bike pedals on the window sill behind Ramon! |
I'm also in my last official semester of college which is nerve-wracking to say the least. I'm trying to figure out post-graduation employment, housing and hopefully a trip around SE Asia! Will also have to pack up my life and drive it to my Grandma's since I'm going to Bali for a month before I officially graduate in June. Crazy crazy!
